Weeknotes S1 : E1

Waiting for a job offer
My concentration skills have certainly been tested last week as I wait for an answer for a job that I recently interviewed for.
I’ve applied for a position in a school based in Trafford – a role that really fills me with excitement at the very thought of it. If successful, I will get to help children, support parents, create new processes that will make things better for teachers and the school leaders, organise wonderful events for the community, and just be a positive and friendly face for all who attend or visit the school.
Update ~ I have been offered the position! Woohoo!!! Just waiting on eDBS check and references, hopefully not too much longer now.

It Takes Two
Our regular Saturday night routine of playing ‘It Takes Two’ went ahead! I’m so bloody addicted to this game. I never imagined that I’d buy into the xBox gaming life, yet here I am. We’re currently working our way through an 80’s style level where we have to create music to progress. This level is fabulous – probably my favourite so far! I can only describe the vibrancy of the colour-combo being like the classic vapourwave! Not only that, we got to slide down giant guitars. hop our way across piano keys, and leap from one place to another at tremendous heights using the bounce of snare drums and cymbals. Truly excellent! I’m sad though – we completed it! Our co-player game search has re-commenced, recommendations are very welcome.

Starting Weeknotes
Well, I only found out about #weeknotes this week! I’m amazed I’ve never heard of them, I’ve been missing out. After reading a few articles and grabbing inspiration from @samvillis post – Weeknote Styles, I’ve discovered that style is important but it should remain very personal to the writer. Also, using a set format is recommended, i.e. a daily breakdown or traditional blog style. For mine, I’ve decided to go interview style.
So every Friday, I will reflect on the week, and ask myself:

  • What was fun?
  • What was hard?
  • What did I learn?
  • What do I wish I could’ve changed?
  • What am I looking forward to next week?
I’m guessing that as time moves on and confidence grows, my notes will improve and I’ll become better at noticing and documenting thoughts, themes and events as they happen through the week. This will actually improve my mindfulness! Who’d have thought. Thanks @jamiewhyte for gifting me with the knowledge of #weeknotes.

Don’t put coke in the freezer!
This week’s major lesson is to not put coke in the freezer to speed up the chilling process. Jamie and I decided to indulge in a cheeky rum & coke after a productive working week. Only thing is, we forgot about our tasty treat, and therefore forgot about the bloody coke cans. Attempting to access the freezer this afternoon for the soup veg was a bit of a challenge! I’ve never seen such an explosion of brown sugar, that was royally plastered throughout the inside of the drawer, up the door, and around our leftover meals. Never again!

International Women’s Day @ Statham Lodge, hosted by KTS IWD 2023

I’m really excited to be attending the IWD by @SueFrance, @TriciaPeters and @KirstyJames, located at Statham Lodge in Lymm, next Wednesday. It’ll be a fun-packed event, full of wonderful women who I can connect with, be inspired by and learn from. There will be guest speakers such as:

~ Carinthia West – the woman with a camera focused on life in the 70’s
~ Jeannie France-Hayhurst – High Sheriff of Cheshire
~ Christine Marshall – comedy and drama script-writer, magistrate and gregarious hermit
 ~ Tara (Tahira) Hussain – I’m not a racist but… (TEDx)

I feel very grateful that I’ve been able to contribute my services towards the raffle prizes – a complimentary 60 Hot Stones Massage, and full access to my self-paced online course ‘Mindset Magic‘. I am thrilled to have secured tickets this year, one very happy and excited woman.
